I do think, though, there is one aspect you neglect to explain for its longevity. And that's videos.<br /><br />They weren't around (really) during new wave or the other faddish genres you mention.<br /><br />Have you ever watched BET? If you were a 14 yr old kid, you'd be a convert to. 'Cause, man, these videos are basically porn. I mean, you can definitely "use" these videos, if you know what I mean.
